Shift + click a taskbar app icon to launch a new instance of that app.

Shift + select an app icon on the taskbar

When to use it

When you need a second window of an already running app, like File Explorer or a browser.

Pro tip

Works for most apps; if the app supports multiple instances, this is faster than right-clicking and selecting the app name.
