Select text or multiple items in a window

Hold Shift and press Arrow keys to extend selection of text or multiple items in a window.

When to use it

When you need to select a range of text or multiple files/folders in a list without using the mouse.

Pro tip

Combine with Ctrl to select non-contiguous items: Ctrl+Space to toggle individual items, then Shift+Arrow to extend a block.
