Creates a new folder in the current location (File Explorer or desktop).
Expand selected folder in File Explorer
Expands the currently selected folder in File Explorer to show its subfolders.
Collapse selected folder in File Explorer
Collapses the currently selected folder in File Explorer, hiding its subfolders.
Expand all subfolders under selected folder
In File Explorer, expands all subfolders within the currently selected folder, showing the full directory tree.
Run selected program as administrator
Opens the selected program with administrator privileges, bypassing User Account Control (UAC) prompt.
Show context menu for selected item
Opens the context menu (right-click menu) for the currently selected item, such as a file, folder, or text.
Open Magnifier and Zoom In
Opens the Magnifier tool and zooms in on the screen.
Zoom out when Magnifier is open
Press Win + Minus to zoom out when Magnifier is active.
Exit Magnifier
Close the Magnifier tool and return to normal screen view.
Toggle High Contrast
Turn the High Contrast theme on or off to improve screen readability.
Toggle color filters on or off
Press Win + Ctrl + C to turn color filters on or off. This shortcut toggles the color filter setting, which can help make text and images easier to see.
Focus first icon in Suggested actions menu
Set focus to the first icon in the Suggested actions menu.
Cycle through windows in opening order
Switch to the next window in the order they were opened. Hold Alt and press Esc repeatedly to cycle forward.
Show password on sign-in screen
Reveal the characters of your password while typing it on the Windows sign-in screen.
Go back
Navigate to the previous folder or page in File Explorer or browser.
Move down one screen
Scrolls the view down by one full screen height in many applications, such as browsers, document editors, and file explorers.
Move Up One Screen
Scrolls the view up by one full screen height in many applications, such as browsers and document viewers.
Go Forward
Navigate forward in File Explorer or web browsers, moving to the next folder or page.
Move Start menu tile or group
Move a focused tile or group on the Start menu in the direction of the arrow keys.
Activate Menu by Underlined Letter
Press Alt + the underlined letter in a menu or dialog to quickly execute that command or open that menu item.
Open Security Screen
Opens the Windows security screen with options to lock the desktop, switch user, sign out, change a password, or open Task Manager.
